HUCK WHITTINGTON
STONEWALL-Graveside services for Everett Lee "Huck" Whittington, 80, of Stonewall are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Jesse Cemetery, his sister, Melba Wilson will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Whittington died Monday, March 5, 2012 at a local nursing home. He was born February 26, 1932 in Pittsburg County, Oklahoma to Winford Winfield "Bill" and Bessie Loraine Elam Whittington. He attended Jesse and Stonewall schools.
He married Gwendolyn Rogers on August 4, 1951. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2011. Mr. Whittington was a tool pusher for Ada Service and later for Poole Well Service until his retirement.
Survivors include three sons, Earl Lee Whittington and his wife Veronica of Henderson, TX, Roy Allen Whittington and his wife Gayla of Stratford, and Leonard Ray Whittington and wife Paula of Nacogdoches, TX; one daughter, Ellen Sharp of Allen; five sisters, Sybil Prince and Billie Mae Kellogg, both of Ada, and Carolyn Selby and husband Ray of Lovington, New Mexico, Patty Sanders and husband Stanley of Ada, and Melba Wilson and husband Ken of McAlester; a brother, Curtis Whittington and wife Marsha of Ada; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great grandchildren.
