Eveline was born in Ada, Oklahoma on August 25, 1954 to WD and LV Wright Mitchell. She grew up in a Christian home filled with love, laughter and prayer. As a young lady, she found her calling to join Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and become a wonderful singer. She continued this form of worship till her death, on November 23,2023.
Evelyn was a beautiful person inside and out. She brought smiles and sunshine when she entered the room. She was a great listener and loved to joke and discuss whatever one would desire. She had a unique and personable personality that everyone enjoyed.
After high school, Evelyn attended Okmulgee Tech Culinary Arts. She became a dietitian and her first job after graduation was with Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Evelyn loved the work and thrived. Later, Evelyn started catering and was very successful with her catering service. She catered weddings and other special events. Evelyn shared her cooking talents working as a dietitian at Jan Francis nursing center and Valley View Regional Hospital.
Evelyn had always been a loving faithful person, and she dearly loved her faith, family, and friends. Two of the things that brought the most joy in her life was her daughter, Elvia and her marriage to Leonard "Hollywood" Cushenberry. He preceded her in death on December 21, 2016.
We shall miss Evelyn but forever hold in our hearts how she loved children, hearing the songs she sung, enjoying her wonderful meals, and her holy dance and praising God.
She is survived by her devoted daughter, Elvia Bradley and husband Anthony; Four brothers, Earnest Wright & wife Angela; Gregory Hardin & wife C.J.; Stanley Richardson, and Greg Mitchell; one sister, Vernita McDowell & husband Albert; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Two brothers preceded Evelyn in death: Phillip Mitchell and Dennis Eugene Richardson; one sister, Sherrie Whitby; and two grandsons, Tameron and Cameron Mitchell. Our love and our memories will forever live on.
