Eunice Adams

Memorial services for Eunice Lenore Adams, 97, of Konawa are 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Saturday, December 1st at Eunice's home in Konawa.

Eunice L. Adams passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at her home. She was surrounded by her daughter, Karen Guthrie and her special granddaughter and caregiver, Janell R. Streeter.

Eunice was born September 30, 1921 at Portland, OR to Eunice Lenore Putnam and William Elbert Putnam. She attended school in Gooding, ID. Eunice married the love of her life, Nealy H. Adams on June 10, 1937.

Some of the places she called home were Gooding, ID, Oakland, CA, Guam, Newport, WA, Ojai, CA, Ada, OK and Konawa, OK.

She loved cooking for others and was known at Ben Franklin Store in Ojai, CA for the extravagant lunches she prepared for all the store employees, as well as the pies and rolls she made for potlucks at the Ojai Church of Christ where she was a member of almost 30 years. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ in Ada for 12 years.

The loving names that she was known by were mom, grams, nana, littlebit and unie.

Her grandchildren knew her for the cookies that always filled the cookie jar when they came to visit, as well as the "greasy" cookies she made for them.

Eunice loved gardening and was known in Ojai, CA for her beautiful rose gardens. She could be seen daily tending her gardens or just sitting on her patio enjoying her hummingbirds. She also loved doing crossword puzzles. She had a love of small poodles and during the span of 50 years had about 5 poodles (except for one, each had the name of Susie). Her last Susie is a teacup party poodle that was totally devoted to her and never left her side till the very end.

Survivors include a daughter, Karen Guthrie, 19 grandchildren – Heath Thompson and wife Shannon, Paul Thompson and wife Alice, Tami Tjaden and husband, John Cohan, Darcy Kruitbosch and husband George, Tammy Adams, Yarnell Aleamon, Rhonda Archuleta and husband Kevin, Kaylynn Johnson and husband Clay, Alice Macho, Heather Gorder and husband Eric, Donald Adams, Jr., Nealy Adams, Jr. and wife Kim, Cindie Hannigan, Patrick Adams and wife Kim, Rory Adams, Michael Adams and wife Amanda, Thomas Adams and wife Amber, Echo Race and husband Clinton and Donna Jimeno. She was also blessed with 44 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

Eunice was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Fred Putnam; her husband, Nealy H. Adams; her children – daughter, Gladys Tjaden; sons, Donald Adams, Wayne Adams and Michael Adams; and her beloved son-in-law, John Guthrie.
