Eugene Sanders

Services for James Eugene Sanders, 89, of Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church in Allen; Rev. Bobby Briggs and Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Allen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday at the Allen Chapel.

Mr. Sanders passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at his home. He was born December 2, 1936, in Allen, to Royal and Willa Mae McElroy Sanders. Mr. Sanders was a teacher and coach at Allen Schools for 39 years.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara, of the home; son, Greg Sanders; daughter, Regina Sanders; and two grandchildren, Kylan Sanders and Brooklyn Sanders.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Shirley Hayes.

Bearers are David Wallace, Kylan Sanders, Frank Griffith, Jeff Maloy, Charles Wallace, James Linker, and Mitch Jarrett. Honorary bearers are James Arnold and Gabriel Gomez.
