STONEWALL-Services for Ethel Wallis Hall, 93, Guthrie, formerly of Stonewall are 1:00 p.m. Monday, October 20, 2014 at the Stonewall Church of Christ, Don Hoover will officiate. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery near Clarita.
Mrs. Hall died Saturday, October 11, 2014 at a Guthrie nursing home. She was born September 26, 1921 at Bromide, Oklahoma to John Washington Wallis and Bertha Seluda Smith Underwood Wallis. She attended grade school at Lone Star, Oklahoma and Clarita High School.
She married Elmer Roy Hall on December 1, 1939 in Coalgate. He preceded her in death on October 11, 2007. Mrs. Hall was a homemaker until the 1960's when she worked for a short time in the cafeteria at East Central University in Ada. Afterward she took the position of activities director at the Stonegate Nursing Home in Stonewall. She held that position for 25 years, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include her sister, Faye Moody and husband Jack of Wapanucka; three sons, Ralph Roy Hall and wife C. J., Charlottesville, VA, Larry Don Hall and wife Karen, Birmingham, AL and Roger Glenn Hall and wife Julie in Colorado and Montana; a daughter, Myrna Hester and husband Eddie, Edmond, OK; five grandchildren, Steve Hester, Michelle Garbrecht, Bryce Hall, Stephanie Hall and Travis Hall; and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers/half-brothers: Tom, Bill, J.T. and Fed Wallis and W. D. Underwood, and four sisters/half-sister: Nora Daniel, Loveta Lane, Juanita Redfern and Wanda Studebaker.
