ESTHER DAVIS

ADA-Services for Esther R. Davis, 83, Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Floyd Kaiser will officiate. Burial will follow at McGee Cemetery in Stratford.

Mrs. Davis died Sunday, August 3, 2008 at a local nursing home. She was born September 10, 1924 at Lula, Oklahoma to Thomas Browden and Nettie Josephine Fitts Phares. She attended Lula schools.

She married Odis Davis on September 1, 1951 in Erbacon, West Virginia. He preceded her in death on January 20, 2001 in Ada. Mrs. Davis was formerly employed as a school bus driver for the Pickett-Center schools. She was a member of Southwest Church of Christ.

Survivors include a son, Jim Davis and wife Nancy, Ada; two granddaughters, Laura Dean and husband Jason, Edmond and Allison Davis, Edmond; three great grandchildren, Chandler, Addison and Jackson Dean; two brothers, Howard Phares, Ada, and Jack Phares, Eufaula; and a sister, Barbara Womack, Holdenville.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Rachel McCord, Iva Bottoms, Lorene Broadway, Mamie Phares, and brothers, Bill Phares, Jimmy Phares, and Oliver Phares.

Bearers will be Mickey Griffen, Curtis Keller, Mike Shilling, Troy Shilling, Jason Dean, and Wayne King.
