Ervin Walton
Services for Ervin Hosey Walton, 72, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Monday at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center, Rev. Hazel Wallace will officiate. Burial will follow at High Hill Cemetery. A Wake Service will be held 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Walton passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at his home. He was born June 21, 1947 at Ada to Hosey and Josephine Shields Walton.
Mr. Walton was the Horticultural Site Manager for the Chickasaw Cultural Center in Sulphur for 17 years and had also worked for Abbott's Nursery for 34 years. Mr. Walton served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam Era.
Survivors include three daughters, Thalia Walton and husband, Jeff McDonald of Ada, Darla Walton and husband, Ron Ahhaitty, Shawnee and Cynthia Walton and husband, Chris Vann, Ada; two grandchildren he raised, Kimberly Walton and Nicholas Walton, both of the home; and his other grandchildren, Felicia Walker and husband Zach, Ada, Jefferson McDonald, Ada, Brittany Gillespie, Ada, Private Christopher Allen, Ft. Hood, TX, Jordan Walton, Norman, Brandon Markcum, Ada, Jaron Ahhaitty, Shawnee, Courtney Matheron and husband Jacob, Ada and Winter Wolfe, Shawnee; an honorary daughter, Mechelle Walton, Shawnee; 11 great-grandchildren, Ariyanna, Parker, Israel, AliceAnn, Isaac, Christopher, Mataya, Hero, Gabby, Blayne and Hunter; a brother, Charles (Cubby) Walton and wife Joni, Poteau; and two sisters, Ann Hammonds and husband Johnny, Lone Grove and Cindy Lankford and husband Gene, Sulphur.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his "mom", Elsie Walton; three brothers, J. T. Walton, Houston Shields and Joe Frazier, Sr.; and a sister, Linda Sue Prince.
Bearers will be his grandsons, Jefferson McDonald, Brandon Markcum, Jordan Walton, Jaron Ahhaitty; and special friends, David Abbott and Lucky Weems. Honorary bearers will be Private Christopher Allen, the Chickasaw Nation Horticulture Department; the Joe Kent Abbott Family; and Jeff McDonald, Ron Ahhaitty and Chris Vann.
