E. W. DUNCAN

AHLOSO-Services for Ervin Webster "E.W." Duncan, 90, Ahloso, are 2:00 p.m Friday at the Connerville First Baptist Church, Rev. David Browning will officiate. Burial will follow at Connerville Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mr. Duncan died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at his home. He was born April 12, 1919 in Searcy County, Arkansas to Dan and Lucinda Cassell Duncan.

He married Velma Lorene Hobbs on January 15, 1940 in Konawa, Oklahoma. He entered the U. S. Army and was stationed in Japan a short time before the end of World War II. In 1959, they moved from Connerville to Ada where he worked for Thomas Concrete Products until 1964 when he was transferred to Oklahoma City and worked for the Thomas Company until retiring in 1982 as a Plant Foreman. After retirement the Duncans moved back to the Ada area, living in Connerville on the Duncan home place where he raised cattle. Mr. Duncan served as song leader in the First Baptist Church of Connerville.

Survivors include his wife, Velma Duncan, of the home; three daughters, Barbara Williams and husband Bob, Ada, Carol Hawkins and husband Jim, Lake Kiowa, Texas, and Martha Southard and husband Tom, Oklahoma City; grandchildren, Vicki and Ronnie Scott, Ada, Laura and Billy Steele, Stonewall, Bob and Dianna Williams, Stonewall, Eddie Hawkins, Lake Kiowa, TX, Tony and Dana Hawkins, Whitesboro, TX, Tracey and Trent Kiesau, Tulsa, Jamie St. Cyr, Moore, and Lee and Sarah Southard, Moore; great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, Michael and Ashley Miller, Bayleigh, Zack and Jett, Noble, Sarah Maloy, Jaeden, Paige and Tanner of Ada, J. P. Maples, Tonkawa, Stephanie Scott, Harlee and Chance, Marlow, Meagan and Wade Doyle and Chad Whittington, McAlester, Brecca Robertson, Stonewall, Addyson Steele, Stonewall, Josh Steele, Stonewall, Abranda and Mark Masoner and Braelyn, Ada, Bryan and Tonya Pogue, Taegus Pogue, Jake Williams, Stonewall, Victoria Hawkins, Lake Kiowa, TX, Stoney, Brock and Sissy Hawkins, Whitesboro, TX, Rachel and Ryan Kiesau, Tulsa, Kyler, Payton and Gage St. Cyr, Moore, and Canon Southard, Moore; two sisters, Justine Lewis, Fittstown, and Leota Coker, Wichita, KS; a brother, Ralph (Tuffy) Duncan, Ringling; and a sister-in-law, Imogene Duncan, Connerville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan and Lucinda Duncan, two brothers, James (Link) Duncan and Loyd (Rip) Duncan, and two sisters, Farris Duncan and Claris Duncan.

Bearers will be his grandsons and great grandsons.
