Erra Timmons

Erra Loraine Skiles Timmons, age 87, went peacefully into the arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 29, 2021 from her home in Ada, OK. Mrs. Timmons was born October 20, 1933 in Bromide, Oklahoma to Ralph William Skiles and Nancy Martin Skiles. She married Chester Daniel Timmons on August 5, 1950 in Bromide, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Timmons was Valedictorian of her 8 ^th grade class at Coatsworth, OK, and always instilled the importance of an education in her children and grandchildren. She was the epitome of the Proverbs 31 woman: a homemaker, gardener, seamstress, cook, tax preparer, canner, hay raker, and wonderful wife and mother.

From 1955 until 1968, she lived at her beloved Wil-Mar Farm south of Ada, Oklahoma. She also lived at Rollow Ranch, Francis, Lightning Ridge, and then a home next door to her son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Lisa Timmons. She considered herself blessed to know she would not have to reside in a nursing home. She never met a stranger and could carry on a lively conversation with anyone. Even though her eyesight faded to complete darkness, she continued to care for herself. She rode her stationary bicycle that she lovingly called her "horse" every day for at least 30 minutes.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Chester Timmons, her parents, and brothers and in-laws: Charlsie and Cecil Lewis, OlaMae and Burt Sutterfield, Sylvina and George Johnson, Margle and Herman Skiles, Lora and Robert Skiles, Hollis and Florence Timmons, Dellis and Audra Timmons, Francis Timmons and Frank and Darlene Skiles.

Mrs. Timmons is survived by a son, Steve Timmons and wife Lisa, Ada; daughters, Anita Shirley, State College, PA; Karen Trivitt and husband Curtis, Lake Dallas, TX; and Jennifer Boeck and husband Jonathan, Ada. Grandchildren, Candace Maggard and husband Alden, Collinsville, OK; Cortney Cowley and husband Jeremy , Edmond, OK; Caleb Timmons and wife Lauren, Tuttle, OK; James Shirley and wife Gabbie, Norfolk, VA; Lori Joyner and husband Wes, Edmond, OK; Gayla Church and husband Greg, PA; Holly Deitrick and husband, Sean, Flower Mound, TX; and Brady and Nathan Boeck of Ada, OK. Great-grandchildren: Scarlett and Ryder Cowley, Cyrus and Haven Timmons, Alyssa Warstler and husband Shawn, Anven and Amerilyn Hawpe, Aaron and Kaitlyn Shirley and Hannah, Leia, and Emily Deitrick. Great great grandchildren: Aurora Taylor and Novilin Warstler. A special cousin, Mildred Kimbrough and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The funeral will be held at Criswell Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, June 5 at 1:00 p.m., Rev. Coy Howry will officiate. Visitation is Friday, June 4, from 6-8 p.m.   Pallbearers are: Alden Maggard, Jeremy Cowley, Caleb Timmons, Sean Deitrick, and Nathan and Brady Boeck Honorary pallbearers are: Wayne Johnson and Sterlin Timmons and Wayne Joplin. Interment will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery, Berk Barrett Road, Pontotoc, OK.
