ERMA WATSON
CHEROKEE-Graveside services for Erma "Red" Brown Watson, 58, of Cherokee, are 1:00 Saturday at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Ms. Watson died Friday, May 16, 2014 at a Cherokee, Oklahoma nursing home. She was born October 8, 1955 in Ada, Oklahoma to Deacon Eddie Lee Brown, Sr. and Lorene Bruner Brown. She graduated from Byng High School in 1973. She received a degree in Culinary Arts from Oklahoma State Technical School in Okmulgee.
She married Benjamin Stanley Watson June 9, 1992. He preceded her in death on February 28, 2012. Mrs. Watson was a cook and worked at several restaurants including the Village Inn and JD's both in Ada. She worked in the Dietary Department at Griffin Memorial Hospital in Norman. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church,
Survivors include her daughter, Jessica Ann Watson of Norman; her brothers and sisters, Jerry Harrison and wife Jackie of Omaha, NE, Jerry Brown, Oklahoma City, Betty J. Riddle, Hartshorne, Wanda Brown of Ada, Marilynn Pierce and husband Leon Sr., Kathaleen Bitson and husband Mike of Tulsa, Howard Brown and wife Anita, Norman, Denise Brown, David Brown and wife Peggy, of Ada, Oliver Brown of Ft. Worth, TX, and Deacon Eddie Brown, Jr. and wife Shelly of Ada; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her great grandmother, Angus Cochran; her grandmother, Ora Cochran Bruner; her husband, Benjamin Watson; her parents, Deacon Eddie Sr. and Lorene Brown; and a brother, Bishop Tommy D. Riddle, Sr.
