Alton Tatum
Services for Emmett Alton Tatum, 66, of Allen, are 1:00 p.m. Friday at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Gerty Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Thursday until service time.
Mr. Tatum passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018 in Dallas, TX. He was born February 1, 1952 at Santa Maria, CA to Allan and Jackie Lee Moody Tatum. He and his family moved back to the Gerty area in 1963 from California and he graduated from Kiowa High School in 1970.
He married Judy Grabeel in 1999. Mr. Tatum was a dry-wall carpenter and of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Judy, of the home; two sons, Chad Edward and wife Lauren of Little Elm, TX and Juan Allan Tatum and wife Lindsay of Keller, TX; a daughter, Tambra Tatum of Keller, TX; two sisters, June Wilson of Gerty and Becky Lay of Pittsburg, OK; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Bret Stevens, Lynn Powell, Gerald Wilson, David Wilson, Jerry Wilson and Lance Wilson. Honorary bearers will be Mark Bulen, Robert Bulen, Sheldon Tatum, Gordon Nixon and Danny Nixon.
