EMMA A. (JACK) BARKER
URBANA, IL – No services are planned for Emma A. (Jack) Barker, 92, formerly of Ada, OK. Mrs. Barker died on Thursday, June 17, 2010, in Urbana, Illinois. She was born on March 10, 1918, in Cement, Oklahoma, to Houston Campbell Jack and Emma Lee (Collier) Jack. She married Jim S. Barker April 10, 1937 in Ada, OK. Her husband, Jim passed away August 20, 1998.
Emma was a homemaker for much of her life, however she worked as a cafeteria manager for the Tulsa Public School Systems for 22 years until she had to medically retire. She was a member of Asbury Methodist Church of Ada, OK.
Survivors also include their son, Captain Michael D. Barker USN (Ret) and wife Linda of Savoy, IL. Two Granddaughters, Krysta ( Douglas) Nix of Champaign, IL, and Kara LaRosa of Fullerton, CA; four great grandsons, Andrew, and Daniel LaRosa, and Seth and Joel Nix. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and one brother.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. or Asbury Methodist Church.
