Elveta (Veta) May Clark

July 16, 1935 ~ August 1, 2026

Elveta moved her residence from Earth to Heaven on Saturday, August 1, 2026.

Elveta was born on July 16, 1935, in Choctaw, Oklahoma to Guy Cargill and Susan Henning Cargill. She had a rough childhood for the first five years of her life. She had a wonderful Christian mother, but her father was abusive, who beat her almost to death several times.

When Elveta was five years old, he deserted the family and that was a blessing. Although she grew up poor with a single mother, there were many happy and fun times growing up in the small town of Choctaw, Oklahoma.

At the age of 12, Elveta accepted Jesus as her personal savior and through the power of the Holy Spirit overcame adversity and abuse to become a powerful prayer warrior who could almost move mountains. She also became a successful business woman.

When Elveta was 16 years old, she married the love of her life, David H. Clark, Jr., on September 3, 1951. He was also from Choctaw, Oklahoma, and they began a life filled with love and adventure that lasted 68 years, until David moved his residence from Earth to Heaven in 2019.

Elveta and David lived, for a time in California, then in 1956 moved back to Oklahoma to start their own business, Clark Oil Company Inc. (not associated with Clark Oil Co., Ada, OK).

It covered several states, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana, and Arkansas. Elveta contributed to their business by being in- charge of all the accounting for the business, with a staff of five under her leadership.

After retiring from the oil and gas business, Elveta and David moved with their two daughters, to Ada, Oklahoma, where in 1981 she started her accounting and income tax business, National Tax Services, Inc. and became one of the most popular and respected tax accountants in Ada. Elveta retired from accounting in 2003, but after being retired for eight years, and missing her tax accountant work, she started another accounting and income tax business, Ada Tax Services, Inc. of which she enjoyed for 15 years. Retiring again in 2025 at the ripe old age of 90.

Elveta is survived by her two daughters, Susan Clark of Ada, OK and Davina Lenard and husband James of Allen, OK; grandchildren, Lacey Krumholz, Julie Bramlett, Kaylani Holle and James David Lenard; great-grandchildren, Kayson Holle, Vinessa Holle, Finnegan Holle, Sean Holle, Cynthia Holle and Nora Huntley.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, David Clark, Jr.; and one great-grandson in heaven, Benjamin Holle.

Elveta’s Celebration of Life Service will be held, at a later date, for close family and friends.
