ELVA LANE
MIDWEST CITY-Graveside services for Elva Ora Lane, 98, Midwest City, formerly of Oil Center, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Maxwell Cemetery. Kendall Martin will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Lane died Wednesday, October 22, 2008 at her home. She was born April 10, 1910 at Oak Hill, McCurtain County, Oklahoma to Walter Washington and Cora Downing Beam. She attended Oak Hill schools.
She married John Sylvester Lane May 12, 1928 at Maud, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1996 in Ada. She moved to Midwest City in 2002 from Ada. Mrs. Lane was a mother and housewife who lived in Oklahoma her entire life. She was a gardener and shared the produce with her neighbors and church family and friends. She was a longtime member of the Church of God of Prophecy at Worstell, Oklahoma.
Survivors include two daughters, Wyleta Gray, Phoenix, Arizona, and Joy Hatfield, Midwest City, Oklahoma; a son, John Lane, Broken Arrow, OK; a sister, Euna Sparks, Wagoner, OK; grandchildren, Danny Gray, Mike Gray, Stanley Gray, Cindi Sanders, Beverly McGill, and Todd Thacker; great grandchildren, Alexa Stegmann, Carle Sargent, Jake Gray, Josh Gray, Annie Parker, Brandon Thacker, Shannon Sanders, Britton McGill, Amy Thacker, and Dillon Thacker; great great grandchildren, Rye Gray, Grayson P. Sargent, and Alexia Guy; and her church family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a grandson, Del Thacker.
