Elmer Lee Young

Services for Elmer Lee Young, 93, of Ada will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel; Mr. Bud Ross will officiate.  Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Young passed away Monday, November 24, 2025, in Sulphur.  He was born May 28, 1932, in Ft. Towson, OK to Riley Era Young Sr. and Eudora Whitley Young.

On December 31, 1972, he married Carolyn Sue Roberts.  She preceded him in death on May 16, 2004.

He served his country in the United States Army with the military police with dedication and honor, carrying the values he learned there throughout his life.

After his military service, he built a long and respected career as a manager at Goodyear, where he was known for his work ethic, leadership, and steady presence. But it was at home and with family that he shined brightest. Deeply protective and endlessly caring, he was the kind of person who made those around him feel safe, supported, and loved.

He took immense joy in being a grandfather. Time with his grandchildren was among his greatest treasures, whether he was cheering them on, teaching them something new, or simply enjoying their company.

He loved the outdoors, especially days spent at the lake. Some of his happiest moments were on the water, teaching the kids how to ski — patient, encouraging, and always ready with a smile.

He leaves behind a family who will forever feel the warmth of his guidance, the strength of his love, and the comfort of countless cherished memories.

Survivors include his son, Michael Young and wife, Sasha, of TX; three daughters, Cindy Glover and husband, Terry, of Burleson, TX, Pamela Williamson and husband, Steve, of Ada, and Christie Birchfield and husband, Dale, of Antlers, OK; sister, Lawanda Snyder and husband, Johnny, of Magdalena, NM; sister-in-law, Beverly Young, of Ada; six grandchildren, Jason Christian, Tiffany Hennebury, Beau Christian, April Murray, Autumn Lee, and Carleigh Dyer; 12 great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Riley Sr. and Eudora Young; wife, Carolyn Young; two brothers, Bill Young and Riley Young, Jr.; and two sisters, Mildred Clinton and Sue Green.

Bearers will be Steve Williamson, Scott Young, Dale Birchfield, Terry Glover, Jason Christian, and Beau Christian.  Honorary bearers are Ernie Sheppard, Tom Jackson, and Chris Feiler.
