Bert Courte

Memorial services for Ellsworth Burton "Bert" Courte, 83, of Sasakwa are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel in Ada, Rev. Perry Justus will officiate.

Mr. Courte passed away Friday, September 11, 2020 at a McAlester hospital. He was born December 11, 1936 in Dallas, TX to Wilford Burton and Millie Jane Scoggins Courte.

Bert married Delores Ann Neal. They were married for 23 years. Bert was a painter for General Motors, retiring after 31 ½ years. He enjoyed going to auctions and was a "dollar man" of everything. Mr. Courte served in the U. S. Marines for eight years serving in Korea. He served on the U.S.S. Boxer.

Survivors include his wife, Delores, of the home; a step-daughter, Rachel Scharber and husband Nick; five grandchildren, Kenton Bethell, Zachary Scharber, Harley Scharber, Taylor Scharber and Matthew Scharber; and two brothers, Alvin Courte and wife Audrey and Marvin Courte of all Henderson, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
