Ella Mae Todd's Obituary
ADA-Services for Ella Mae Todd, 98, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Monday at Central Church of Christ, Bud Ross will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Todd died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at an assisted living center in Ada. She was born January 20, 1916 in Coal County, Oklahoma to Frank and Caroline Criner Eddings. She graduated from Coalgate High School and moved to Ada about 1936. She graduated from East Central State Teacher's College and also received a Master's Degree in Education from East Central University.
She married Harold O. Todd March, 1941. He preceded her in death in 1945. Mrs. Todd taught for 24 years in Pittsburg and Osage counties and retired from Willard grade school in Ada. She was a longtime member of Central Church of Christ.
Survivors include a son, Harold Todd and his wife Tisha of Ada; a sister, Bethel Lee of Coalgate; 3 granddaughters, Kim Johnson and husband Rob of Ada, Stacy Ritchie and husband John of Georgetown, TX, and Tammy Thompson and husband Joey of Ada; her great grandchildren, Kayla Johnson, Lindsay Johnson, Reid and Rylan Johnson, all of Ada, Todd Ritchie, Lubbock, TX, Tristan Ritchie and Tate Ritchie, both of Georgetown, TX, and Ashlyn Thompson, Kalen Thompson and Kate Thompson all of Ada; her son-in-law, Haskell Dighton; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Nancy Dighton in 1967; 5 brothers, Orville Eddings, Elmo Eddings, J. C. Eddings, Bill Eddings, and Baley Eddings; two sisters, Jessie Greenhaw and Alice Eddings; and longtime friend Martha Mote.
Bearers will be her grandsons, Robbie Johnson, John Ritchie, Joey Thompson, and Charles Ingram, Haskell Dighton and Bill Webb. Honorary bearers will be Dr. John Siegle, Bill Adams, Dr. Jerry Morgan, John Netherton, Mark Cox, Joe Don Harrison, Drew Taylor and members of her Sunday School Class.
