ELLA V REED

WAPANUCKA-Services for Ella V Reed, 99, Wapanucka, are 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wapanucka Baptist Church, Rev. Earl Hood and Rev. Larry Schoonover will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery at Wapanucka. The family will receive family and friends from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Criswell Funeral Home.

Mrs. Reed died Friday, August 13, 2010 at an Ada nursing home. She was born August 13, 1911 at Umpire, Arkansas to William and Pearl Davis Pate. She received a Bachelor's degree from East Central State Teacher's College in Ada.

She married John Clark Reed on September 30, 1935. He preceded her in death on May 10, 1979. Mrs. Reed was an elementary school teacher at Umpire, AR for one year. She taught for nine years at Plainview schools and retired from teaching at Wapanucka. She was a member of the Wapanucka Baptist Church, the Oklahoma Educators Association and the Retired Teachers Association. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and received numerous awards.

Survivors include three daughters, Janet Carole Toney and husband Bill, Bromide, Jo Ella Mosely and husband Joe, Oologah, and Carolyn Sue Free and husband Phil, Collierville, TN; six granddaughters; eleven great grandsons; and one great granddaughter.

Bearers will be Allan Cribbs, Darwin Hall, Fred Johnson, Bud White, Robbie Strahan and Doug Denson. Honorary bearers are Steven Bret Denson and Leonard Hatter.
