Services for Ella Mae Briggs, 84, Ada, are 11 a.m. Saturday, June 8, 2019 at Reaper Baptist Church, Ada. Burial follows at Athens Cemetery, Ada. Officiating will be Ricky McGee.

Ella passed away Saturday, June 1, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born March 1, 1935 in Maxwell, Oklahoma to Florena and Brownie Clark. Ella attended Napier schools and graduated from Napier High School in May 1954.

Ella married her high school sweetheart, William H. Briggs, on September 20, 1955 in her home in Ada. She was employed by Brockway Glass Company for 25 years and was also a home health care provider for her family and friends. She was a member of Reaper Baptist Church in Ada and was a lifelong resident.

Survivors include her children William Henry Briggs Jr., Ada, Donna Lane, Ada, Scottie Briggs, Ada; Siblings, Lester Clark, Langston, Ruby Ransom, Ada; 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband William H. Briggs Sr.; son, Donald Lee Briggs; grandson Donald Lee Lane; parents, Brownie and Florena Clark; siblings, Augustus Brown, Otis Grayson, Izora Alexander, Chester Clark, Rufus Clark, E.F. Clark, and Leon Clark.

Bearers are Jackie Rollins, Shawn Wills, William Briggs III, Ryan Briggs, Garrett Briggs, and Dillon Briggs.

Honorary bearers are William Briggs Jr., Scottie Briggs, Leon Brown, Victor Cooper, Kylen Cooper, Jimmy Simmons.

Flower bearers are Aiyanna Lane, Syncere Rollins, Jaki Rollins, Jordyn Rollins, Kiera Rollins, and Nyla Hatton.

Honorary flower bearers are Betty Weaver, Ruthie Gray, Sheila Sturgeon, Donna Louie, Carliss Briggs.
