Services for Elizabeth Ruth Howard, 75, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center, Rev. Allen Beck will officiate. A wake service will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center.
Mrs. Howard died Saturday, September 9, 2023 at her home. She was born July 17, 1948 in Talihina to Raymond V. and Emily Keel Howard. She came to this area in 1982 from Los Angeles, CA.
She attended VoTech classes to become an LPN and later received her Registered Nursing Degree. Mrs. Howard was employed with the Carl Albert Indian Health Facility and later retired from McCalls Chapel. While in California, she was employed with Pacific Bell and Administrative Assistant to the Mayor of Cerritos County, Los Angeles, CA. She was of the Methodist faith attending Pennington Creek United Methodist Church of Reagan, OK until her illness.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and Bryan Howard of Ada; a brother, Luther John and wife Judy of Ada; a sister, Joyce Wesley of Milburn, OK; step-daughter, Linda Noah, of the home; grandchildren, Brianna Howard, Chayse Howard, both of Ada and Isaiah Perez; Aunt, Hannah and husband Gene Pitman of Tishomingo; nieces and nephews, David Cripps of Milburn, Cheryl and husband Troy Bornman of Milburn, Tracey and husband Isreal Vasquez of Purcell, Stephanie and husband Strickland Scott, Brandon and wife Monie John, Adrian and wife Courtney John, all of Ada, Travis and wife Joann John of Sulphur, Kellie John Reynolds and husband Cody Reynolds of Tishomingo, Kristie Jackson and husband Joe and Karrie Sewell. Along with a host of cousins, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Bearers will be Travis John, Brandon John, Adrian John, David Cripps, Isreal Vasquez, Cody Reynolds and Martin Bekinnie.
