ADA-Graveside services for Effie Evelina Bowman, 94, of Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Wetumka Cemetery, Rev. Bill Black will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Bowman died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at an Ada nursing home. She was born June 22, 1919 in Rosetta, Arkansas to James Franklin and Stella O. Bailey Moore.
She married Omer Cecil Bowman on January 30, 1939. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2000 at Ada. They were married for 62 years. Mrs. Bowman was a homemaker and a member of the First Christian Church in Seminole and Ada.
Survivors include her children, Zane Bowman and wife Clarice of Ada, Wes Bowman and wife Mary of Lone Grove, Don Bowman and wife Pat of Guthrie, Robert Bowman and wife Barbara, Milton, FL, and Debbie Choate and husband Mike of Ada; three sisters, Darlene Young of Okanogon, WA, Pat Dorhorst of Hay Springs, NE, and Frankie Johnson of Crowley, LA; three half-brothers, Sammy Moore, David Moore and Paul Moore of Wynne, AR; 8 grandchildren, Garth, Lance, Kelleya, Charlie, David, JonMark, Lauren and Lindsay; 8 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one brother and eight sisters.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
