EARL PLATT
ADA-Services for Edward Earl Platt, 97, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Temple Diehl will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Platt died Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at a local hospital. He was born April 9, 1915 in Blue, Oklahoma to Martin Luther and Gracie Adams Platt. He and his family moved to this area about 1927 and he graduated from Ada High School in 1934.
He married Johnnie Mae Graham on May 2, 1936. Mr. Platt was a carpenter and later worked in the maintenance department at East Central University. He was a longtime active member of the Asbury United Methodist Church and had served in the U. S. Navy during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Johnnie Mae Platt, of the home; a son, David Platt and his wife Charlotte of Ada; a daughter, Nancy Goodell and her husband Forrest of Houston, TX; one brother, Herman Platt and his wife MaryEtta of Tulsa; his grandchildren, Cheri Busse and husband, MSGT Roger Busse, Deanna Ross and husband Andy, Amy Holland and husband Bert, Lori Jordan and husband Randy; his great grandchildren, Kari Busse, Cody Hickman, Skylar Frady, and Melissa Trevino; and step great grandchildren, Amanda and Rachael Ross, Makena and Bryce Holland, and Colby Jordan.
Bearers will be David Platt, Forrest Goodell, Roger Busse, Randy Jordan, Cody Hickman and Colby Jordan.
