ED LANCE
OIL CENTER-Services for Edward Eugene "Ed" Lance, 82, of Oil Center are 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Earl Hood will officiate. A Committal Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Maxwell Cemetery.
Mr. Lance died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at an assisted living center in Ada. He was born September 8, 1932 in Ada, Oklahoma to Eugene and Katherine Wood Lance. He graduated from Vanoss High School in 1950.
He married Joyce Lavern Trimmer on October 29, 1955. She preceded him in death on September 7, 2012. Mr. Lance worked alongside his father at Lance Grocery in Maxwell. He later worked at Lance Tank Service and was a distributor for Skelly Oil (later Getty Oil). He then was a trucker for Texaco. Mr. Lance was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener. He served in the U. S. Army with the Military Police from November 1952 until being honorably discharged November 1954.
Survivors include a son, Bob Walls, Kingston; a nephew whom he reared, Tony Kaai, Denison, TX; other grandchildren, Radonna Dalke, Wilburton, Brett Walls, Ada, and Greg Lance, Tahlequah; his great grandchildren, Shawna Walls, Ada, Gavan Dalke and Aiden Dalke , Wilburton; and a daughter-in-law, Brenda Lance, Tahlequah.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Eddie Lance; and a grandson, Bobby Walls.
Bearers will be Greg Lance, Brett Walls, Roger Dalke, Tony Kaai, Mike Trimmer and Charles Wood. Honorary bearers will be Lynn Wood, Bob Passmore, Mike Gray and Bob Walls.
