E.J. CLARK
ADA-Services for E.J. Clark, 82, Ada, are 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Ryan Humble and Rev. David Sutton officiating. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery with Rev. Keith Burden officiating. The family will receive family and friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Clark died Saturday, May 28, 2011, at his home. He was born Jan. 28, 1929, to Earl A. and Ozella Matthews Clark. He attended Yeager Elementary School and Fairview High School in Hughes County. He came to the Ada area in March 1955 from Holdenville. Mr. Clark was retired from Ideal Cement (now Holcim) where he was employed as the shipping and yard supervisor. He was employed there from 1955 to 1991. He was then employed for 10 years at Ada Ford as a courtesy driver. He was a longtime active member of First Free Will Baptist Church where he had served as a deacon since March 1978.
He and Dortha Martin were married June 18, 1949.
Survivors include his wife, Dortha, of the home; one daughter, Dayna Grissom and husband Cledes Jr., Ada; one son, Terry Clark and wife Jawana, Ada; one brother-in-law, Greg Martin and his wife Michele, Grove; five grandchildren, Tracy Van Hooser, Jayson Clark, Jeremy Clark, Chad Grissom and Scott Grissom; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Earlene Baxter.
Bearers are Gene Myers, Wayne Rogers, Bud Estes, James Presley, James Mouser and Dr. Steve Turner.
Honorary bearers are Earl Collings, Jayson Clark, Jeremy Clark, Chad Grissom and Scott Grissom.
