Dewain Shaw

Services for Dewain Farrell Shaw, 82, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Bud Jones and Rev. Famous Cochran will officiate. Burial will follow at Box X Cemetery near Oil Center.

Mr. Shaw passed away Monday, November 28, 2016 near his home. He was born October 27, 1934 in Seminole to Joseph Edward and Dovie Opal Wilson Shaw. He attended school at Summers Chapel.

He married Dorthia Jo "Dot" Nelson April 16, 1951 at Eunice, NM. She preceded him in death January 21, 2011. Mr. Shaw was a barber and along with his brother, Jerry Shaw , co-owned Shaw's Barber Shop from 1955 until his retirement in 2007. He was a member of Cottage Avenue Church of Christ, a member of the Outlaw Lawmen's Association and a roll member of the Arkansas-Missouri Cherokee Tribe.

Survivors include two sons, Roger Shaw of Ada and Farrell Shaw of Ada; a daughter, Denise Byrd and husband Charles of Ada; one brother, Kenneth Shaw and wife Ruth of Ada; a sister, Wilma Danielson of Seminole; five grandchildren, Camey Malouf, Chantel Shaw, Pete Byrd, Chase Byrd and Joseph Shaw; 12 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers will be Brandon Atkins, David Jones, Justin McDaniel, Jess Atkins, Mikey Atkins and Steve Elmore.
