DOYLE COBB
ADA-Graveside services for Doyle Cobb, 89, of Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Rosedale Cemetery in Ada, Rev. John Haynes will officiate. The Navy Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.
Mr. Cobb died Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the Sulphur Veterans Center. He was born March 27, 1923 in Clinton, Oklahoma to Caleb Calvin and Frances Myrtle Stanford Cobb. He attended Midland, Texas grade school and graduated from Midland High School. He attended Draughn's Business College in Amarillo, Texas for two years. He moved to this area in 1959 from California.
He married Nancy Lou Lancaster on January 26, 1963 in Wagoner, Oklahoma. Mr. Cobb was the owner-operator of the Huddle Restaurant, home of the Huddle burger and Flavor Crisp Chicken. Previously, he was employed at Hoffman Electronics and General Dynamics. He was a member of the Ada First Baptist Church and had served in the U. S. Navy during World War II from December 7, 1942 until January 27, 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy Cobb, of the home; two sons, Timothy Doyle Cobb of Ada and Mark Caleb Cobb of Ada; his grandchildren, Jessica Cobb, Jacob Cobb, Deland Cobb and Caleb Cobb; a sister, Sammy Lane O'Neal of Ada; and numerous nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dalton H. Cobb; and a sister, Lou Ella Rutherford.
Bearers will be Steve O'Neal, Matt O'Neal, Chad Davis, Jim O'Neal, Dalton Cobb, Mark Cobb, Tim Cobb, Jacob Cobb, Deland Cobb, David Taylor, Sherwood Taylor and Jim Sanders.
The family says those who wish may make memorials to the Ada First Baptist Church Falls Creek Lodge, 521 S. Broadway, Ada, OK 74820.
