DOROTHA MADDOX
JACKSONVILLE, ARKANSAS-Services for Dorotha Maddox, 80, Jacksonville, Arkansas, formerly of Stonewall, Oklahoma are 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Sam Martin will officiate. Burial will follow at Jesse Cemetery.
Mrs. Maddox died Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in Jacksonville, Arkansas. She was born April 1, 1929 at Caney, Oklahoma to Ernest and Ella Mae Holland Martin.
She married Forest Maddox February 22, 1947. He preceded her in death on April 13, 2007. Mr. and Mrs. Maddox owned and operated a small café in Florence, Oregon until their retirement. They moved back to Stonewall to be near family, and Dorotha hosted many family get-togethers and holiday dinners. She was well known for her cooking, especially her delicious homemade pies.
Survivors include her three children, Doug Maddox and wife Judy, Anaheim, California, Lil Maddox, Palmetto, Florida, and Cork Maddox and wife Cynde, Jacksonville, Arkansas; one brother, Sam Martin, Cottage Grove, Oregon; three grandchildren, Missie Dickey, North Little Rock, Arkansas, Shawn Maddox, Indio, California, and Aaron Maddox, Anaheim, California; and five great grandchildren.
