DOROTHY WILLIAMSON MCELRATH
STRATFORD-Services for Dorothy Pearl Williamson McElrath, 81, of Stratford are 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Little Axe First Baptist Church, Dr. Sunny Stuart will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Norman. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon Saturday at Criswell Funeral Home in Ada, and visitation will be at Primrose Funeral Home, 1109 N. Porter in Norman Sunday from noon until 8:00 p.m.
Mrs. McElrath died Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at an Ada nursing home. She was born February 5, 1933 in Stratford, Oklahoma to Walter Ellis and Esther Dorcus Beasley Williamson.
She married Marvin Houston McElrath on March 19, 1977. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2013. Mrs. McElrath had been employed with the State of Oklahoma, Department of Agriculture as a Seed Analyst until her retirement. She was a member of the Little Axe First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, David Hinkle and his wife Rejane of El Paso, TX, Barbara Sheppard of Oklahoma City, Norma Beard and her husband Mike of Wanette, and Brian Hinkle and his wife Kelli of Stratford; two brothers, Joe Williamson and wife Mabel of Santa Barbara, CA, and Jack Williamson and wife Lela of Vanoss; a sister, Lois Carder and husband Dick of Oklahoma City; 9 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; daughter, Georgia Kay Hinkle; granddaughter, Candace Sheppard; three brothers, Robert Williamson, Richard Williamson, and Lee Williamson; and four sisters, Marie Clampett, Martha (Polly) Williams, Katherine "Cotton" Williamson, and Sally Cordell.
Bearers will be Michael Hinkle, David Sheppard, Tracy Simmons, Walter Beard, Andy Hinkle and Adam Hinkle. Honorary bearers will be Austin Hinkle, Jaxon Hinkle, Logan Beard, Aiden Beard, Brody Hinkle and Riley Hinkle
