DOROTHY STORY
ADA-Graveside services for Dorothy Jo Story, 85, of Ada, are 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Rosedale Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church in Ada, Rev. Bob Langston and Dr. Roberto Escamilla will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Dorothy died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born May 4, 1926 in Stratford, Oklahoma to James E. and Thelma Martin. She lived in this area all her life, attended Stratford grade school and graduated from Ada High School. She also attended East Central University in Ada.
She married Dub Story on March 2, 1947. He preceded her in death on May 8, 1998 in Oklahoma City. Dorothy was an accountant for Case State Bank and Oklahoma State Bank in Ada, and also the family owned business, Story Feeder Supply. She was a longtime member of the Stonewall First Methodist Church and the First United Methodist Church in Ada where she was a member of the Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was a member of the Prime-Timers, the Golden Agers, the Ada Elks Lodge #1640, Oak Hills Golf and Country Club and the Ladies Golf Association.
Survivors include a son, David Story and his wife Sally of Edmond and their children, Abby Story and Kyle Story; a daughter, Debbie Story of Oklahoma City; a nephew, Jimmy Martin and his wife Linda of Plano; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Bearers will be Jack Jones, Dobber Bingamon, Tony Pyrum, Jerry Snow, Lee Murray and Phil Murray. Honorary bearers will be the many friends of the Fellowship Sunday School Class.
