DOROTHY MCCOY GREENWAY
ADA, OKLAHOMA-Memorial Services for Dorothy Evelyn McCoy Greenway, 89, Ada, formerly of Bedford, Iowa are 10:00 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Bedford, Iowa.
Mrs. Greenway died Monday, February 14, 2011 at her home in Ada. She was born March 30, 1921 at Corning, Iowa to Earl and Ada Richards Palmer. She graduated from Nodaway High School in Nodaway, Iowa.
She married Joe McCoy on October 8, 1939. He preceded her in death in March, 1976. She later married W. E. "Chub" Greenway in March, 1978. He preceded her in death in June, 1998. Mrs. Greenway was a U. S. Postmaster, retiring after 20 years of service. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nodaway, Iowa and had attended the First United Methodist Church in Ada, OK. Mrs. Greenway was an avid sports fan and played golf until she was in her 80's.
Survivors include a daughter, Kay Keyser and her husband, Marv of Kerens, Texas; a son, Denny McCoy and his wife Janet, Tupelo, OK; seven grandchildren, Casey Keyser Ashley, Stillwater, OK, Jodi Keyser Smith, Omaha, NE, Justen McCoy, Ada, OK, Nikki McCoy Callison, Ada, OK, JoRay McCoy, Guthrie, OK, Jet McCoy, Ada, OK, and Cord McCoy, Tupelo, OK; 17 great grandchildren; and one great great grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, two sisters, Doris Palmer Berkey and Rowena Palmer Rhamy, and a brother, Clifford Palmer.
