Services for Dorotha Mae Stiles, 95, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Monday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stiles passed away Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Shawnee. She was born September 11, 1923 at Egypt, OK to Thomas Monroe and Jessie Keeling Abbott.
She married Herbert Junior Stiles December 13, 1942. He preceded her in death December 5, 2008. Mrs. Stiles was a cook at Byng School for over 10 years. She started the first breakfast program for schools in the state. She and her husband owned and operated the Dairyland Drive-in Ada for several years. Mrs. Stiles was a longtime member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church, where she helped prepare and organize the funeral meals at the church. She enjoyed fishing and her grandkids and she was a seamstress who made blankets and quilts for all her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Terry Stiles and wife Kay, Checotah and Larry Stiles and wife Rae of Wewoka; two sisters, Jean Sims and Joyce Scroggins, both of Moore; a brother, Richard Abbott, Duncan; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
