Doris "Sam" Easterling

Graveside services for Doris "Sam" Easterling, 91, of Ada are 1:00 p.m. Monday at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.

Mrs. Easterling passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at an Ada nursing home. She was born July 9, 1926 at Isabella, OK to Jerome Outhier and Lucy Irene Dumler Emmons. She graduated from high school and attended nursing school at the University Hospital in Enid.

She married John Dierksen October, 1948. He preceded her in death January 6, 1989. She later married Tom Easterling February, 1993. He preceded her in death November 1997. Mrs. Easterling was a Registered Nurse at Southwestern Medical Center in Lawton until her retirement. She also served in the Army Nurse Corp.

Survivors include a daughter, Jane Mason, of Ada; one granddaughter, Carla Holtzman of Ada; two great-granddaughters, Amelia Holtzman and Jemma Blue Holtzman, both of Ada; two sisters, Lois Morgan and husband John of Bartlesville and Ruth Sturgeon and husband R. V. of Stillwater; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her two husbands; a son, Bradley John Dierksen; three brothers, Chuck Emmons, Keith Emmons and Lloyd Emmons; and a sister, Betty Emmons.
