DONNA GERSZEWSKI
BYNG-Services for Donna Jean Smith Gerszewski, 50, of Byng are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Coalgate Cemetery.
Mrs. Gerszewski died Saturday, February 25, 2012 at a local hospital. She was born February 27, 1961 in Coalgate, Oklahoma to Mason Elmer and Emilie Lavina Potter Smith. She graduated from Coalgate High School in 1978. She received a Bachelor's Degree from Boces Tech in New York.
She married Richard Lucas Gerszewski on June 5, 1992. He preceded her in death on October 21, 2008. Mrs. Gerszewski was a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Countryside Rehab Center in Jefferson, Wisconsin. She was affiliated with the Assembly of God Church.
Survivors include her father, Mason Smith of Byng; a daughter, LaDawn Garrity and her husband Clayton of Edgewater, FL; a son, Derreck Brown and his wife Shannon of Yorba Linda, CA; two step-daughters, Jennifer McCourt and her husband Robert of Ardmore, and Tracy Apkarain and her husband Jeff of Johnson Creek, WI ; two sisters, Cindi McGehee and her husband Wayne of Lone Grove, OK, and Brenda Smith of Ada; a brother, Colin Smith and Dennis Gregson of Oklahoma City; nine grandchildren, Robert, Autumn, and Emilie Button; Nile, Victoria, Regina, and John Henry McCourt; and Adam and Zane Apkarain; numerous nieces and nephews, Jonathan, Katie, Jason, Andrew, Jacinda and Bethany; and friends, Nancie Bays of Slidell, LA, and John Ruback of Duncan, OK.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Emilie Smith; her husband, Richard Lucas Gerszewski; and a brother, Darrell Smith.
Bearers will be Clayton Garrity, Daniel Beck, Derreck Brown, Colin Smith, Gerald Naffe, and Dennis Gregson.
