Donald Thompson
Services for Donald Edwin Thompson, 68, of Ada will be at 10:00 AM Monday, September 16, at the Criswell Funeral Chapel. Pastor David Warden, St Paul Indian Methodist Church in Talihina, will officiate.
Mr. Thompson died Monday, September 9, 2019, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born September 26, 1950, in Talihina to Turner Lee Thompson Sr. and Ferris Armstrong Thompson.
Donald was a dedicated, hard worker over the years...from managing an old hotel for retired men, to working in chicken plants, construction, CNA at the old Valley View Hospital, and retired from Wal-Mart as the door greater/security guard. Donald did three tours in the U.S. Army in Korea, Viet Nam and Germany.
He was a local rancher who raised race-bred horses..
Donald loved sports, especially football. He played on a high school state champion team and loved O,U. and the Dallas Cowboys. Donald was often laid-back and shy, but he had quite a sense of humor too. But, as a friend, he was honest, loyal and helpful in any way he could be.
Survivors include his significant other, Sandra Mantooth, of the home; three daughters: Marissa Guerrero and Maranda Kirkes of Ada, and Krisanne Thompson of Louisiana; grandchildren: Agustin Guerrero Jr., Elisia Thompson, and Joni Thompson of Ada, Hunter Lee Brown and Teeaira Thompson of Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Betty Baken; two brothers, Bobby Thompson, and Turner Lee Thompson Jr.; grandson, Roman Lee Kirkes; and son-in-law, Nathan Kirkes.
