DON LACKEY
ROFF-Services for Don Lackey, 83, of Roff are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church of Roff, Revs. Tony Folger and Frank Trent will officiate. Burial will follow at East Hill Cemetery near Roff. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Criswell Funeral Home.
Mr. Lackey died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at a Sulphur hospital. He was born December 8, 1930 in Wheeler County, Texas to Thomas Robinson and Susan Lucretia Slocum Lackey. He graduated from Latta High School.
He married Betty Jean Wilkin. She preceded him in death on April 21, 1997. He later married Margaret Ann Webb. She preceded him in death and later, he married Billie Margaret Murphy Pierce on September 8, 2012. Mr. Lackey owned and operated a plumbing business in Albuquerque, New Mexico and moved back to Roff in 1970. He later retired from the First Baptist Church in Ada as the head custodian after 18 years of service. Mr. Lackey was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roff.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Margaret Lackey, of the home; two sons, Roger Lackey and wife Martha of Roff and Darrell Lackey and wife Kay of Sulphur; his step-children, Sandy Shaw and Sharon Spikes, both of Roff, Claude Allen Pierce of Davis, James Alan Pierce of Pauls Valley, Mike Pierce of Roff, and Bill Pierce, Jr. and wife Nancy of Colorado; a step-granddaughter whom he reared, Jeana Smith of Davis; 10 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 11 step grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wives, Betty Jean Lackey and Margaret Ann Lackey; and two sisters, Irene Rogers and Evelyn Chilcoat.
Bearers will be the Deacons of the First Baptist Church: Lee Dobbins, Steve Ryan, and Daryel Sanders; and three grandsons, Sean Lackey, Chad Lackey and Tristin Lackey.
