ADA-Services for Dollie Dow Nelson, 83, Ada, are 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at Life Community Church, Rev. Mickey Keith officiating. Burial follows at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson died on Sunday, March 8, 2009, at her home. She was born July 25, 1925, at Cleburne, Texas, to Juddie and Grace Johnson Cook. She graduated from Ada High School. She was a member of The Red Hat Society and Ada Gladiolus Club, and was a local artist. She was a homemaker and a member of Life Community Church. She was a Sunday School teacher and a prayer warrior.
She married Homer D. Nelson on August 11, 1945, in Ada. He preceded her in death on May 3, 2002.
Survivors include a son, Danny Nelson and wife Susan, Davis; a daughter, Gay Burns and husband Jim, of Konawa; son, Mark Nelson, Ada; grandchildren, Daniel Nelson, Sulphur; Michelle Hanson and husband John David, Ada; Christa George and husband Martin, Los Angeles, California; Shane Nelson, Davis; Craig Nelson and wife Brandy, Cusseta, Georgia; and Cody Allen and wife Karin, Konawa; and great grandchildren, Brianna Hanson, Brayden Nelson, Elisa Allen, Carter Hanson, Ivy George and Ella Grace Allen.
Bearers are John David Hanson, David Keith, Al Hamilton, Dewayne Nelson, Paul West and Michael Keith. Honorary bearer is Elmo Yeargan.
