Obituary

Graveside services for Dois Ray Stevens, 95, of Ada are 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 25, 2022 at Memorial Park Cemetery, Claude "Buddy" Baltimore will officiate.

Mr. Stevens passed from this earth into God's hands February 18, 2022 at his home.  He was born November 27, 1926 in Childress, Texas to Ordie Virgil Stevens and Claudie Mae Barley Stevens.  He was raised by his grandparents, Thomas and Linnie Stevens in the Homer area.  He graduated 8 th grade from Homer School.

He married Lois Gay Hussey Stevens, January 1, 1948 in Ada, OK.  They spent time traveling to see the whole U.S., and time with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  Each grandchild (5) had a special trip with them to visit Disney Land or Walt Disney World a very special time with each grandchild.

Dois Ray (D.R.) worked 41 years as a machinist at Ideal Cement Plant (Holcim).  He was a master of anything he wanted to do.  He built two homes by himself with the help of his wife Lois of 74 years, rebuilt and repainted 3+ cars for each of his children and had completely rebuilt a school bus into a luxury motor home that he never got to drive out of the garage.

Survivors include his wife of 74 years Lois Gay Stevens of the home (Ada); one daughter and son-in-law, Richard and Kay Stevens Shaw, of Ada; five grandchildren, Ryan and Melissa Shaw, of Ada, Brandi and Matt Bowman, of Littleton, CO, Kari Stevens White and Sean White, of Sudbury, MA, Derek and Cara Stevens, of Medina, Ohio, and Jeremy and Sheila Cox, of Hutto, TX; 12 great grandchildren, Abigail Shaw, of Ada, OK, Audrey, Harleigh, Diane White, all of Sudbury, MA, Jace, Dylan and Kylor Stevens, of Medina, OH, Charlotte, Conner and Madi Bowman, all of Littleton, CO, Zachery and Bailey Cox, of Hutto, TX; one sister, Francis Mae Thomas, of Lodi, CA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Grant Stevens; daughter-in-law, Diane Stevens; daughter, Norma Jean Cox Tirey; son-in-law, Christopher Tirey; and great grandson, Andrew Cox.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
