Delores Lou Battershell Rose
Services for Delores Lou Battershell Rose, 69, of Allen are 2:00 p.m. Friday at the Allen First Baptist Church, Rev. Chad Kaminski will officiate. Burial will follow at Gerty Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the Allen Chapel from 4:00 p.m. Thursday until service time.
Mrs. Rose passed away Monday, March 4, 2019 at her home. She was born January 24, 1950 at Holdenville to Hendricks Eugene and Oleta Pauline Heubner Battershell. She graduated from Del City High School in 1968, attended Mid-Dell Vo-Tech and graduated from East Central University in Ada with an Associate of Science Degree. She was a certified record keeper.
She married Robert Glenn Rose March 18, 1972 in Ada. He preceded her in death July 9, 1977. Mrs. Rose had worked for the town of Allen, a caretaker at McCall's Chapel, in the food service industry and as a seamstress. Her favorite job was working at the Allen Quick Pic for Kerry Caldwell. Mrs. Rose was a member of the First Baptist Church in Allen. She enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, crocheting, playing sudoku, loved traveling and time at the lake. She loved Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, Denver Broncos, and Oklahoma Sooners sports teams.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Glenn "Bobby" Rose, Jr. of Atoka and Ryan Gene Rose, of the home; a daughter, Rory Gne'e Rose Smith of Oklahoma City; two grandsons, Cobin Smith and Ledger Smith; and her mother, Oleta Pauline Battershell of Holdenville.
She was preceded in death by father; and a daughter, Kristina Dawn Rose.
Bearers will be Leon Moore, Chris Caldwell, Michael Bailey, John Cundiff, Brett Stephens and Chuck Wofford. Honorary bearers will be Kerry Caldwell, Bobby Linker, Bryan Windle and Chad Goodson.
For those who wish to make food donations, the Allen First Baptist Church will receive the donations Noon Friday at the church.
