Memorial graveside services for Debra Leigh Sales, 68, of Stonewall, Oklahoma are 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at the Wanette Cemetery.
Miss Sales passed away Saturday, August 3, 2024 at a nursing home in Davis, Oklahoma.
She was born September 2, 1955 in Shawnee, Oklahoma to A.T. Sales and Audrey Louise Metcalf Sales.
One of Debbie's first jobs was at Tinker Air Force Base as a secretary and later went to work for Mobile Chemical in Shawnee where she retired after 30 plus years. She loved sports and loved OU football, which is where she got her nickname Tinker, after OU quarterback Tinker Owens. She played softball and golf and was also a pretty good bowler. In the 1970s, she played in the women's football league, the Oklahoma City dolls and in the late 1970s was chosen to go to Hollywood, California where she was cast as a double for Susan Blakely and played a receiver in the movie The Oklahoma City Dolls.
Survivors include a brother, Jeff Sales and wife Lori, their son, Jeffrey, his wife and three children; and sister, Cathy Hilgert and husband Dan; plus many cousins with fond memories of her.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
