Deborah Jean Speaks
Services for Deborah Jean Smith Speaks, of Ada, will be Wednesday, February 19th at 2:00 p.m. at A Place of New Hope Calvary in Ada. Debbie peacefully passed away at her home on February 12th, 2025 at the age of 65.
Born on October 23, 1959, Debbie was the oldest daughter of Glen and Marie Smith. She attended Vanoss and Byng schools, graduating from Byng High School in 1978. Debbie attended cosmetology school and went on to own and operate her own salon for many years.
She married her husband, Gary Speaks on November 25th, 1977 and together they built a long happy life together.
Debbie's dream of motherhood came true on May 16, 1985, when Amanda Lee Speaks was born. She became a fulltime mom and wife and devoted her life to being a homemaker for her family.
Her greatest joy was when she became a grandmother to Gage, Raley, and Carley.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Speaks; her daughter, Amanda Riley and fiancé, Rick Sines; granddaughters, Raley Riley and Carley Riley; sisters, Diana Hunt and husband, Charles, and Glenda Schmidt and husband, Kent; and many nieces and nephews.
Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, Glen and Marie Smith and her grandson, Gage Lee Speaks.
Pallbearers will include Richard Sines, Jason Hubbard, Kolby Johnson, Kylor Johnson, Carter Johnson, and Caden Johnson. Honorary bearers will be Chad Hunt, Carson Hunt, Colton Hunt, and Kaden Darnell.
Debbie will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. She had a big heart and would do anything for anyone, especially those she loved. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
