Dearl
Nickell
Mar 19, 1970 — Oct 9, 2026
Ada, Ok
Dearl Kent Nickell, 56, of Ada, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born March 19, 1970, and delivered by his parents, Harvey Wayne Nickell and Arvis Lahoma Nickell, at home, Dearl leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, music, faith, and family.
Dearl was the youngest of 5 siblings, whom their father affectionately referred to as the “Fab 5”, and he was and remained incredibly dedicated to his family. Although maybe the ornery one of the group, his ability to entertain and get a laugh always made him the brightest light in any room.
Dearl’s upbringing and life were steeped in faith and music. He was raised in the church and to love the lord, and carried both this love for the lord and his musical talent everywhere he went. He and his siblings also sang and toured as a gospel group, “The Nickell Family” where he drummed, played guitar and piano, sang, and wrote countless songs, using the gifts God had given him, for His glory.
While not playing music, he worked with his hands. Building, fixing, and helping in any way he could. He followed the example of his father and grandfather, in that there wasn’t a thing he couldn’t fix with a little elbow grease and the Lord’s help.
Dearl met and married Donna Sue Nickell, and together they had one son, Clint Nickell. Dearl was a loving father, and the funniest Papa around whom his grandchildren loved dearly.
He spent his last years with his partner Georgina Meis enjoying their grandchildren and making wonderful memories.
He is survived by his son Clint and his Daughter-In-Law Erin, his 3 grandchildren Foster, Shepard, and Shiloh, his partner Georgina, his siblings, Tony, Keith, Don, and Nancy, and by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Restoration Church in Ada, Oklahoma, on November 7, 2026 11 AM.
