Darrell Bolich

Graveside services for Darrell Bolich, 93, of Ada are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery, Floyd Kaiser will officiate.

Mr. Bolich passed away Thursday, May 24, 2018 at a local hospital. He was born April 25, 1925 at Mound City, MO to Daniel and Mary Ellen Combs Bolich. He graduated from Maitland, MO High School, received an Associate's Degree from Cameron University in Lawton; a Bachelor's Degree from Oklahoma Baptist University in Shawnee; attended East Central and the Golden Gate Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, CA. and received his ordination papers in 1959.

At age 17 he joined the U. S. Army and was stationed in Europe where he was engaged in battle on D-Day. He fought across Europe and was awarded two bronze stars, one for D-Day and one for the Bulge.

After Germany surrendered, he stayed in Germany and was in the Special Services where he was privileged to escort Bob Hope and his troupe and meet heavy-weight champion, Joe Lewis.

After returning to the States, Darrell remained in the service. During the Korean Conflict he transferred to the Air Force, where he served as Warehouse man. He married his wife Eunice in 1953.

Darrell spent a career as pastor, missionary worker and counselor. His pastorate and mission work were in the state of Oklahoma, Florida, Missouri, Texas, Washington and California.

His last work was Councilor for the California Dept. of Corrections, San Louis Obispo, CA and at the same time pastoring a church. He retired in 1976.

Darrell and his wife Eunice moved to Ada in 1976 where he did supply preaching and/or teaching a Sunday School class in various churches in the community. He later pastored at Ahloso Southern Baptist Church.

Survivors include a step-son, Eldon Ray Cox, Mesa, AZ; a niece, Mary Scott of Tucson, AZ; and other nieces and nephews.
