Darlene Lyda

A gathering for Velma Darlene Lyda, 71, of Ada will be from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at the Chickasaw Nation Community Center.

Mrs. Lyda passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at her home. She was born December 8, 1947 at Alamogordo, NM to A. R. and Melba Kathryn Burnett East.

Mrs. Lyda had worked for General Tire Company.

Survivors include her companion, Kenneth "Hoot" Gibson; two sons, Joseph Lyda, and Kenny Lyda and wife Michelle, all of Ada; her grandchildren, Morgan Lewis, Sara Lyda, Celestial Lyda, Jamie Graham and Mariah Wyatt; a great-grandchild, Elyzabeth Lynn Turpin; and two sisters, Kathy East and Mary Fisher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister; and a brother.
