Danny H. Curtis, born April 25, 1947, of Ada, Oklahoma left this world to be with his Lord and Savior on May 7, 2023.

Danny is survived by wife, Kellie Curtis; sister, Veta (Dennis) Tupper and their son Deaton; his daughters, Renee (James) Adair, Stephanie Ellis and her children [Whitney(Sonny) Hood and Marcus], Danielle (James) Whitworth and their children [Christopher and Joshua]; step-daughters, Krystle (Bryant) Forrester-Smith and their children [Madison and Lilly], Heather (Jacob) Elder and their children [Adyn, Cameron, and Ethan], Avorie (Cody) Greenlee and their children [McKenzie, Landon, Preston and Cheyton]. Danny grew up in Nida Point, Oklahoma and graduated from Cobb High School in 1965. In 1967 he received his certification from Oklahoma State Technological School in auto mechanics and went to work for Richardson Motors in Ada, Oklahoma. In 1969 he was drafted into the Army and served an eleven-month tour in Vietnam as part of the 101 st Airborne Division. He was an Infantry First Sergeant and honorably discharged in 1971. He and his family returned to Ada and he continued to work for Richardson Motors until 1979. Oklahoma Gas & Electric hired him in 1979, he retired as a Foreman/Welder/Mechanic after 29 years of service.
The big barrel-chested man was known for his charisma and wit. He never met a stranger. His passion for restoring classic cars and hot rods, helped forge friendships around the nation. He was known for his meticulous workmanship and creative fabrication. Every project he built had his signature on it. The street rod community recognized a car built by Danny Curtis.
When most people purchase acreage, it is for livestock, farming or a manicured estate. For Danny, it was to store his future restoration projects. His Field of Dreams remained but a dream in this life. We know that dream is now becoming a reality and he is hard at work building cars for those of us who will follow him.
The celebration of life will be at H20 Church, 16615 CR 1560, Ada, Oklahoma, 74820 on June 3, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Let's celebrate him in style! Wear your favorite car show or Hawaiian shirt and arrive in your classic car. We will have a final car show and take him on his final cruise around Wintersmith Park after the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Danny to the Paralyzed Veterans of America (pva.org), the Disabled American Veterans (dav.org), or the Bull Nettle Ranch (bullnettleranch.net)
