DANNY COLLINS, JR

ADA-Services for Danny Lee Collins Jr., 26, Ada, are 10 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Ada, the Rev. Norman Standfield will officiate. Burial will follow at Swan Hill Cemetery. The Oklahoma National Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery.

Mr. Collins died Friday, June 26, 2009, at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born January 24, 1983, at Ada, to Danny Lee and Pat Jones Collins. He graduated from Latta High School in 2001 and attended Carl Albert Junior College in Poteau. He enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard while a junior in high school and went active following graduation where he served as a federal technician. Mr. Collins was also a graduate from Warrant Officer candidate school. He was employed with T N T Construction and was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.

Survivors include three children, Isaiah Collins, Cadence Collins and Paige Collins; his father, Danny Lee Collins and his wife Beth, Purcell; his mother, Pat Collins, Ada; one sister, Tammi Lynn Collins, Ada; three brothers, Tony Collins and his wife Toni, Troy Miller and his wife Haley, and Drew Miller, all of Ada; his paternal grandmother, Lavern Collins, Ada; his maternal grandmother, Jackie Quintero, Oklahoma City; his maternal grandfather, Col. Jimmy Jones, Norman; and several nieces, nephews and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Herman Collins.

Bearers will be Chad Collins, Derick Collins, Troy Miller, Cole Booth, Rocky Anderson and Tony Collins. Honorary bearers will be Trey Graham, Matt Miller and Bradley Miller.
