DANNY BARRETT
ADA-Services for Danny Wayne Barrett, 67, of Ada, are 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Harold Ware will officiate. Burial will follow at Pontotoc Cemetery.
Mr. Barrett died Monday, January 6, 2014 at his home. He was born February 18, 1946 in Ada, Oklahoma to J. G. "Pete" and Joyce Hammons Barrett. He attended Ada grade school and graduated from Ada High School in 1964.
He married Claudene Cravatt on September 29, 1977. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2008. Mr. Barrett was a Police Officer for the City of Ada until his retirement. He was later a Police Officer with the East Central University Police Department until retiring. Mr. Barrett served in the U. S. National Guard, was an avid fisherman and a member of the Ada Lodge #119 AF & AM.
Survivors include a daughter, Samaiel Stokesberry of Ada; two sons, Ty Barrett and wife Debbie of Ft. Smith, AR and Danny Wayne Barrett, Jr. and wife Loni of Tyler, TX; his grandchildren, Kreid and Kaine Stokesberry, Catie Barrett, Casey Horton, Jamie Horton, Megan Barrett and Christian Richardson; a step-sister, Jeneatte Matthews of Ada; and step-brother, William Ray Griffith of Fitzhugh.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and a son, Dustin Barrett.
