DAMARR EVANS
ADA-Services for DaMarr Evans, 81, Ada, are 10 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Rev. Bob Langston and Rev. David Daniel will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery.
Mrs. Evans died Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at an Ada hospital. She was born Nov. 8, 1930, to Charles and Anna Griffin Pierce at Olustee, Oklahoma. She attended school in Hickory, graduated from Sulphur High School and attended East Central University. She and her husband were partners in Evans Hardware in Ada and later she was the owner of Evans Gourmet & Gifts for eight years. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church.
She and Gene Evans were married Sept. 11, 1955.
She is survived by her husband, Gene, of the home; one daughter, Marianne Evans, Falls Church, VA; one son, Harry Gene Evans and wife Leslee, Atlanta, GA; two sisters, Crystal Salter and husband D.O., Davis, and Ann McKim and husband Roger, Sulphur; one brother, Ronnie M. Pierce and wife Nancy, Sulphur; three grandchildren, Harrison Evans, Sarah Evans and Matthew Evans, all of Atlanta, GA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, John Pierce and Virgil Pierce and one sister, Kay Turner.
