In Loving Memory of Dalton Hunter Day
December 23, 1991 – June 17, 2026
With heavy hearts and deep gratitude for the life he lived, we announce the devastating and tragic passing of Dalton Hunter Day, age 34, on June 17, 2026.
Dalton was born on December 23, 1991, in Ada, Oklahoma, and was building his life and home in Hickory, Oklahoma. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, son-in-law, and friend whose life was centered around the people he loved most.
Dalton was preceded in death by three babies lost through miscarriage, whom he and Destiney loved deeply and carried in their hearts. While he did not get to hold them here, he carried them in his heart and found peace in knowing they were held in God’s hands.
Dalton is survived by his loving wife, Destiney Day, and their three beautiful children: Cross Cole Day (3), Camri Jo Lynn Day (1), and Carli Lee Ann Day (2 weeks old). Being a husband and dad was not simply part of who Dalton was—it was the role he treasured above all else. Every free moment he had was spent with his wife and children. He made it well known he had everything he ever wanted in life, his wife and kids. They were his greatest joy, his purpose, and his world. When him and Destiney met in July of 2021, they knew they were each other’s person. He often mentioned how he was afraid he would never get to accomplish his dreams of becoming a husband and father but in a little under 5 short years he was able to build the most beautiful life and family and be an amazing husband and father to 3 beautiful babies.
Dalton worked as a soil farmer in the oil field and carried the values of hard work, dedication, and sacrifice into everything he did. He worked every day with one goal in mind: caring for and providing for his family. He made sure they were always cared for and protected, because that was what mattered most to him.
He attended Roff Public Schools, where he developed a love for baseball and proudly helped the Roff Tigers to multiple state championship victories. That love for the game stayed with him throughout his life, and he remained a devoted fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He went on to help coach his son, Cross, in his first t-ball season and was very proud to have done so.
Outside of work, Dalton loved hunting, fishing, and spending time outdoors. If there was fresh air and family nearby, he was happy. He had a way of making people laugh, lighting up every room with his humor, goofy personality, and ability to bring lightness even during difficult moments.
His children and nieces adored him, and he loved being playful and present with all of the children in his life. Those who knew Dalton will remember his loyalty, his laughter, and the unmistakable way he loved his family.
Though his time here was far too short, Dalton leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, faith, and selfless care for those entrusted to him. His family finds comfort in knowing that the same love and protection he gave so freely will continue to surround them as he watches over them.
In accordance with Dalton’s wishes, services will be kept small and private.
Flowers may be sent to Criswell Funeral Home in Ada.
