ADA-Services for Dale Lee Johnson, 72, Ada, are 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 13, 2007, at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Revs. Jeff Frazier and Ken Angel officiating. Burial follows at Violet Cemetery near Konawa.
Mr. Johnson died on Monday, September 10, 2007. He was born January 9, 1935, at Steedman, east of Ada, to Gibson and Julia Alexander Johnson. He worked as an oil field pumper and landscaping. He attended Abba House, formerly Worship Center Church of God. His grandfather, Jeno Alexander, was the last medicine man of the Chickasaw Nation.
He married Helen "Jackie" Factor on June 4, 1971. She preceded him in death on October 27, 1993, in Ada.
Survivors include two sisters, Emily Dickerson, Ada, and Leona Seckinger, Ada; and numerous nieces and nephews; and a daughter, Sharon Sherrell, Ada; two step-daughters, Sandra Shumard, Pickett; and Leila Hill, Ada; 4 granddaughters, Kim Fox, Kathy Tucker, DeWanna Roden, and Tammy Sherrell; a grandson, Ray Harvey; and 3 great grandsons, Brennen Atkeson, Jesse Pratt, and Jason Roden. He was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe Johnson, Palmer Johnson, Lewis Johnson, Robert Johnson and Frank Johnson; one sister, Emaline Johnson; a great grandson, Doug Pester; and 2 great granddaughters..
Bearers are Elvis Johnson, Randall B. Johnson, Terry Adams, Ronnie Daniel Shumard, Sonnie Wolfenbarger and Carlin Thompson. Honorary bearers are Zack Adams and Raymon L. Harvey.
