Obituary

A graveside service to honor Curtis Owen "Curt" Canada, 83, of Galey, Oklahoma will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Cedar Grove Cemetery in Francis, Oklahoma, Rev. Bill Dixon will officiate.

Curt passed away on February 2, 2025, in Ada, Oklahoma. Born on July 1, 1941, at home in the Cedar Gove Community, near Francis, OK, to Havern and Helen Matthews Canada.

A dedicated lineman for OG&E, Curt was employed with them for many years before retiring. He married the love of his life, Nancy Thompson, on September 6, 1961, and together they built a loving family.

Curt is survived by his beloved wife, Nancy, of the home; son, James Canada; daughter, Donita Canada; three brothers, Howard Canada and wife Pat, Ronnie Canada, and Marty Canada and wife Teresa. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Kendra Saltis and husband Jerrod, Skyla Canada, and Samantha Worcester, as well as his cherished great-grandchildren, Alexis Ross, D.J. Knox, Lily Cross, Roston Ardery, Olivia Shaw, and Oaklin Shaw.

Curt was preceded in death by his parents, Havern and Helen Matthews Canada; his daughter, Darita Canada; his sister, Betty Whetstine and husband Everett; and his sister-in-law, Vickie Canada.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thompson, Craig Thompson, Jon Canada, Jason Canada, Justin Canada, and Clayton Canada. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Canada, Floyce Lanier, Roy Lucy, Jim Ashley, Doyne Wofford, Jerry Robinson, and Pete Odom.

Curt will be remembered for his love of family, his hard work, his quiet strength and love of music. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
